Mewar University’s CSE/IT Students Gain Practical Insights at JK Cement Works.

On 24 August, 2024, 51 eager students from the 3rd semester of B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) at Mewar University embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to JK Cement Works in Nimbahera, Chittorgarh. This educational excursion, seamlessly organized under the academic curriculum, provided a unique opportunity for students to witness the sophisticated operations and cutting-edge technology driving the cement manufacturing industry. The visit was greenlit by the Bureau of Indian Standards (B.I.S.), Jaipur Branch Office, and was meticulously coordinated through the B.I.S. unit at Mewar University alongside the Department of Training and Placement Cell. The group was led by two dedicated faculty members, Mr. Ajay Singh Dhabariya and Ms. Aasifa Farooq, both Assistant Professors in the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Applications, respectively.

The primary objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. Students gained firsthand experience in understanding the intricacies of cement production, the critical role of information technology in optimizing industrial processes, and the stringent environmental and safety standards upheld by the industry. B.L. Pal, HOD, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, said that this industrial visit stands as a testament to Mewar University’s commitment to blending theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, ensuring that their students are well-prepared for the challenges of the professional world. During this visit, students were guided by Mr. Pankaj Tiwari (Management trainer) and Ms. Prerna Singh (HR) from J.K. Cement Plant, Nimbahera.
